A graduate of the University of South Carolina, Jonathan Thomas Coutlangus is a professional American Baseball player. In the 2000 MLB amateur draft, Coutlangus was picked in the 33rd round but refused to sign up, choosing to complete his education and play at the college level. In 2003, the San Francisco Giants picked him in the 19th round, and this time, Coutlangus decided to stay on. After three years with the club, he was claimed by the Cincinnati Reds in 2006, for the Minor Leagues. He played for the Chattanooga Lookouts and the Louisville Bats in the minor league.

Coutlangus was assigned to Spring Training at the end of the 2007 season but before the beginning of the new season, he was traded out to the Arizona Diamondbacks.
