Minor LeaguesBen was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 6th round of the 2004 draft, and went through their minor league system before being traded to Tampa Bay, along with Mitch Talbot, for Aubrey Huff and cash on July 12, 2006.
Major LeaguesBen made his major league debut for the Rays on August 1, 2006.
He spent a few games at AAA Durham during 2007 and 2008, but for the most part has been on the major league roster of the Rays.
