Rio Ruiz is a professional baseball player from the United States of America. He plays in Major League Baseball for the Colorado Rockies. He was also previously on the Baltimore Orioles and Atlanta Braves. He was drafted into the MLB in 2012 and he made his MLB debut in 2016.

He attended the Bishop Amat Memorial High School where he played both football and baseball. He committed to play college baseball with the University of Southern California and when he was a junior, The San Gabriel Valley Tribune named him as their Baseball Player of the Year.He missed most of his senior year games because of a health issue. He had a blood clot in his clavicle.
The Houston Astros drafted him into the major leagues and he played in their minor league associate teams. He made his professional debut with the Gulf Coast Astros. Other minor league teams he has played for include the Greenville Astros, the Quad Cities River Bandits, and the Lancaster JetHawks. He was also assigned to play for the Salt River Rafters.
In early 2015, he was traded by the Astros to the Atlanta Braves. The braves assigned him to play in the Mississippi Braves and the Gwinnett Braves. In September 2016, he was promoted to play in the majors.
In December 2018, he was claimed by the Baltimore Orioles on waivers. After a couple of years with the Orioles, he was also claimed off waivers by the Colorado Rockies in 2021. He debuted for them in July 2021. In October of that year, he opted to become a free agent. In December 2021, he joined the KBO League, playing for the LG Twins.
