Anthony Santander

Anthony Santander is a professional baseball player in Major League Baseball. He is Venezuelan and he debuted in the MLB on August 18, 2017. He has been playing for the Baltimore Orioles since 2017. He also played for the Cleveland Indians as an international free agent.

Santander was born Anthony Roger Santander on October 19, 1994. His hometown is on Margarita Island in Venezuela. His family later moved and he grew up in Agua Blanca. He stands 188 cm and his last listed weight is 106 kg. He is a right-handed player and he bats and throws with his right.

Career

In 2011, he was signed by the Cleveland Indians as an International Free Agent. They have him play for the Arizona League Indians. Other minor league teams, he played for include the Lake County Captains and the Mahoning Valley Scrappers. He also played for the Lynchburg Hillcats.

In 2016, he was picked by the Baltimore Orioles during the 2016 Rule 5 Draft. In August 2017, he made his debut in the MLB in a game against Los Angeles Angels.

He is noted for being the favorite player of more than 4000 girl guides and scouts from the United Kingdom. They cheered him on during a 2019 game between the Orioles and the Toronto Blue Jays.

In 2020, he batted 261/.315/.575. In that season, he also made 11 home runs.
