Cody Ransom, born on February 17, 1976, in Mesa, Arizona, is a former professional baseball player who carved out a career as a shortstop in Major League Baseball (MLB). Known for his versatility and strong defensive skills, Ransom played for several teams, most notably the New York Yankees.

Early Life and Education

Cody honed his baseball talents at Chandler High School in Arizona before entering the professional landscape. Initially drafted by the Cleveland Indians in 1995, he opted to refine his skills further at South Mountain Community College. After two years, he transferred to both Mesa State and then Grand Canyon University to complete his collegiate career.

Minor League Journey

In 2001, Ransom was selected by the San Francisco Giants in the 9th round of the MLB draft. He worked diligently through the Giants' farm system, showcasing his potential and determination as he moved closer to the major leagues.

Major League Career

Cody made his MLB debut with the Giants on September 5, 2001, in a game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
