Career
Guillen's journey in baseball began when he was signed by the Pittsburgh Pirates as an amateur free agent in 1993. He made his MLB debut on April 1, 1997, but his time with the Pirates was just the beginning of a whirlwind career that saw him play for seven different teams over a span of fourteen seasons. After moving through the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Arizona Diamondbacks, and others, he had a notable stint with the Anaheim Angels in 2004, where he hit .294 with 27 home runs and 104 RBIs.His career took a significant turn in 2007 when he signed a lucrative three-year contract with the Kansas City Royals worth $36 million.
