Career
Soria began his journey in baseball with the Diablos Rojos del Mexico in the Liga Mexicana de Beisbol and later showcased his skills in the Mexican Winter League with the Yaquis de Obregon. His impressive performance in the Mexican Pacific League included a memorable perfect game against the Naranjeros de Hermosillo on December 9, 2006. Drafted by the Royals in the 2006 Rule 5 draft from the San Diego Padres organization, he made his MLB debut in 2007, quickly establishing himself as a reliable closer.During his first major league season, Soria recorded a 2–3 win-loss record with 17 saves and an outstanding 2.48 ERA. His breakthrough year came in 2008 when he notched 23 saves in 24 opportunities and achieved a remarkable 1.22 ERA. His dominance was highlighted by a streak of 13 consecutive saves, breaking a long-standing club record.
