Joel Peralta is a professional baseball player from the Dominican Republic and specializes as a relief pitcher. Peralta moved to the United States in 2005 and was signed up by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. He played just one season with the Angels and in 28 games, finished with an ERA of 3.89.

Peralta was traded out to the Kansas City Royals in 2006 and became a regular playing member in the roster, appearing in 64 games. Peralta pitched 73.2 innings that season with a 4.40 ERA and striking out 57 batters. He significantly improved his performance in 2007 and although he played 2 games less than the previous season, he pitched in 87.2 innings at an ERA of 3.80. Giving away 39 runs, Peralta struck out 66 batters.

Peralta saw a major dip in form in 2008 as he pitched in 52.2 innings at an ERA of 5.98. His poor performance saw him get benched often, playing just 40 games in the season.

In 2009, Peralta was traded out to the Colorado Rockies and in the season so far, has played just 2 games.
