Career

Millar’s journey in baseball began at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, where he honed his skills before embarking on his professional career with the Saint Paul Saints in 1993. He made his mark in the Major Leagues with the Florida Marlins, where he played from 1998 to 2002. A significant twist in his career occurred when he was sold to the Japanese Chunichi Dragons, but a dramatic series of events involving the Boston Red Sox led to him joining the team instead.

From 2003 to 2005, Millar was a vital member of the Red Sox, contributing to their success during the American League Championship in 2003 and their triumphant World Series victory in 2004, breaking an 86-year championship drought for the franchise. Following his time in Boston, he signed with the Baltimore Orioles in 2006.

One of Millar's standout achievements came in 2007 when he set a franchise record for the Baltimore Orioles by reaching base safely in 50 consecutive games. His streak extended to 52 games, marking it as one of the longest in the league since 1957.
