Career
Buddy started his baseball journey at Bellevue East High School, where he not only excelled in baseball but also made his mark in football. His professional career took flight when he was selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the second round of the 1996 MLB Draft. After three seasons in the Reds organization, he was traded to the San Diego Padres. It was here he made his major league debut on August 29, 1999, finishing that season with a record of 1-3 and a 5.97 ERA.Following a stint with the Padres, Buddy ventured to Japan, playing for the Hanshin Tigers, where he found moderate success over two seasons. He continued to showcase his talent in the minor leagues after returning to the United States, joining the Kansas City Royals and later signing with the New York Yankees, where he recorded an impressive 12-5 record in Triple-A. His ability to bounce back earned him a chance with the Los Angeles Dodgers before finally landing with the Braves.
